Annual report archive

Throughout 2020, City Year AmeriCorps members found creative ways to continue to connect with students virtually and support teachers and principals in new virtual learning environments. City Year quickly adapted to local needs in Spring 2020, leaning into our holistic Whole School, Whole Child (WSWC) approach and the strength of our partnerships.

This annual report is a look back at our work in 2018-2019, with a focus on the impact City Year had on our students and schools, on our AmeriCorps members and alumni, and on the broader work to influence the systemic policies and practices that shape educational opportunity in our country.

Our 2018 Annual report focuses on City Year’s vision for student success, telling the story of how AmeriCorps members help students to develop the skills and mindsets they need to thrive in school and in life, while they themselves acquire valuable experience that prepares them to be leaders in their careers and communities. Through profiles and quotes, the Annual Report celebrates our remarkable City Year AmeriCorps members along with the dedicated partners and champions who make their service possible.

Our latest annual report highlights City Year's seven-year promise to students: our commitment to serve students from the third through the ninth grades, key years of their educational experience, when research shows students are most at risk for falling off track. The Annual Report tells the story of the power of that promise through profiles and quotes featuring both City Year AmeriCorps members who serve in public schools every day and the generous  partners and champions who make that service possible.

City Year’s work is fueled by relationships – particularly the positive connections that develop between City Year AmeriCorps members and the students they serve. These relationships can be life-changing, and they create lasting impact in the communities we serve for years to come.
