City Year San Antonio
San Antonio is home to a close-knit and welcoming community known for its rich cultural heritage. City Year San Antonio works alongside teachers and community partners to support students across the city.
Serving in San Antonio
While San Antonio is widely known for being a vibrant center for academia, business, tech and medicine, some students in San Antonio face significant challenges every day. The San Antonio School District serves more than 15,000 students across 125 schools.
Your corps experience
City Year is a key partner to the San Antonio Independent School District in creating equitable learning opportunities for all students and developing the city’s future leaders. AmeriCorps members support teachers and staff in delivering instruction that serves the development of the whole child and is responsive to the diverse racial, cultural and linguistic needs of San Antonio youth.
With more than 76% of students tutored by AmeriCorps members last year improving their test scores, AmeriCorps members are truly making an impact. A close-knit community with ample opportunities to develop meaningful personal and professional relationships, San Antonio is an ideal place to serve.
Work with a committed and diverse group of 8–15 City Year AmeriCorps members who share your passion for service and personal growth.
Professional development
Each City Year school team is led by an Impact Manager who is fully invested in your City Year experience and professional development, so you graduate your City Year prepared for another year of service or your future aspirations.
