Welcome to San José!
San José is home to an ethnically diverse community, booming technology companies and aspiring entrepreneurs. City Year San José/Silicon Valley works alongside teachers and community partners to support students across our city.
Living in the Bay Area
With mild weather and lots of sunshine, residents enjoy the outdoors all year round. Thanks to partnerships with the SAP Center and 49ers Foundation, corps members occasionally attend sporting events, concerts and comedy shows for free. In addition, our AmeriCorps members enjoy the scenic San Francisco Golden Gate Park and Santa Cruz Boardwalk as part of all-expenses covered team socials throughout the year. In 2024, our AmeriCorps visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
AmeriCorps members also receive a free VTA bus pass and Caltrain annual pass, which grant access to the buses, light rail and train.
City Year AmeriCorps members support students in public schools in the East San José community.
