University of Michigan Law School

City Year is proud to partner with the University of Michigan’s Law School, one of the finest institutions of legal education in the world, offering $10,000 annual tuition scholarships to the Juris Doctor program for all admitted City Year applicants.

The University of Michigan’s Law School offers City Year AmeriCorps members, alums and staff

$15,000 scholarships

A $15,000 annual scholarship will be awarded for the Juris Doctor program to all admitted City Year applicants who have not already been awarded a merit scholarship. This award is in lieu of and not in addition to another merit award of a higher amount.

The scholarship will be renewed in subsequent years provided recipients maintain continuous registration and remain in good academic standing, according to Michigan Law School standards.

Scholarships are awarded to City Year AmeriCorps members and alums who complete at least one term of service and City Year staff employed for at least two years.

The scholarships described above represent the minimum awards; applicants will be considered for additional need-based and merit-based aid.

Additional benefits

  • Application fee waiver
  • Enrollment deferral: Michigan Law School will allow deferrals for up to one year if accepted applicants decide to serve additional time with City Year.
