City Year New Hampshire
The largest city in New Hampshire and one of the fastest-growing cities in New England, Manchester is up-and-coming, honoring its manufacturing roots while spurring new growth and development.
We are working to address the lack of equitable access to educational opportunities. Our City Year New Hampshire AmeriCorps members partner with teachers and schools to add more support and to help create learning environments where all students can build on their strengths and fully engage in their learning.
Accelerating academic growth in New Hampshire
- 59% of students tutored by City Year met or exceeded one year of growth in English Language Arts
- 67% of students tutored by City Year met or exceeded one year of growth in mathematics
Partnering with teachers and principals
- 100% of partner teachers are satisfied with having City Year in their schools and 85% agree that City Year AmeriCorps members provide essential academic supports their students wouldn’t otherwise receive
- 100% of partner principals agree that City Year AmeriCorps members serve as positive role models, work well with their teachers and have an overall positive impact on the school environment
There’s a saying for those who work on large ships, and it’s ‘all hands on deck.’ In education, that means City Year volunteers bring more hands to our deck. And our purpose is to help every child, and I mean every child, have a successful education experience in Manchester schools.
