Second-year corps member
Continue to see your students grow and build on the skills you developed as a first-year corps member by directly supporting students in the classroom and being a guide to your teammates as they embark on their first City Year.
Team leader
Support and coach a team of first-year AmeriCorps members while working closely with your school administrator and partner teachers to help ensure the success of students.
Service leader
Lead and support a team of first-year AmeriCorps members while continuing your work with students in the classroom (opportunities available in Baton Rouge, Buffalo, Dallas, Denver, Jacksonville, New Orleans, New Hampshire and Tulsa.)
Teaching fellowship
Multiyear teacher preparation, modeled after medical residency training, create locally specialized and nationally relevant pathways into the teaching profession (opportunities available in Denver, Boston, Milwaukee and Providence). Learn more about City Year’s Teacher Pathways Strategy.
I wanted to have the opportunity in guiding others to have a meaningful year of service while challenging myself as a leader. My passion to giving back and serving students is what brought me back to serve another year and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

The stipend for second year AmeriCorps members serving in the 2023–2024 school year:
All of our locations will have a $935 bi-weekly stipend (pre-tax), with the following exceptions:
Providence: $982 bi-weekly stipend (pre-tax)
Sacramento: $1,008 bi-weekly stipend (pre-tax)
Detroit, Memphis and Philadelphia: $1,050 bi-weekly stipend (pre-tax)
Jacksonville: $1,053 bi-weekly stipend (pre-tax)
Chicago and Miami: $1,075 bi-weekly stipend (pre-tax)
Baton Rouge, Cleveland, Columbus, Kansas City, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Milwaukee, San Antonio, San José, Tulsa and Washington, D.C $1,179 bi-weekly stipend (pre-tax)
