Mount Holyoke College’s graduate programs in education offer City Year AmeriCorps members, alums and staff

50% scholarships

The scholarship award will be equal to 50% of tuition for up to two City Year recipients per degree program.

Scholarships are awarded to City Year AmeriCorps members and alums who complete at least one term of service and City Year staff employed for at least two years.

Eligible programs

• Master of Arts in teaching
• Master of Arts in teaching English language learners
• Master of Arts in teaching mathematics
• Master of Arts in teaching special education/moderate disabilities
• Master of Arts in teaching teacher leadership

Additional benefits

• Application fee waiver
• Enrollment deferral: Space permitting, Mount Holyoke College will allow deferrals up to one year if accepted applicants decide to serve additional time with City Year.

Admission is rolling; however, there are priority deadlines for students interested in scholarships, and some programs only admit students at particular times of the year.

To identify your City Year affiliation

Please contact the Professional and Graduate Education Office and state your City Year affiliation and dates of service and reference our partnership.

To access the application fee waiver and apply for the scholarship

To get the application fee waived and be considered for the scholarship, a service verification letter must be requested by emailing alumni@cityyear.org with “Mount Holyoke College: service verification letter” in the subject line. Within the email, include the site where you served and your AmeriCorps graduation month and year. The service verification letter will be sent back to the applicant for you to upload to your application.
