Why City Year loves American University’s School of Education
The faculty of the School of Education at American University is committed to excellence in the professional development of dedicated and proficient teachers, policy makers and researchers. Over the past 16 years, the School of Education has focused significant energy on the development of partnerships to support teachers in systemically under-resourced public and charter public D.C. schools. Through a number of federal grants, over 1,200 D.C. teachers have participated in subsidized graduate degree programs or graduate-level professional development programs. The School of Education and American University are committed to working together with the D.C. community to ensure an equitable and excellent education for all of the city’s children.
