Terms & Conditions

The 2022 referral campaign launched on March 31, 2022 and will end on: June 17, 2022 for confirmed 2022-2023 AmeriCorps Members and August 29, 2022 for currently serving corps, staff, and alumni. After the stated end date by audience, any individuals will not be eligible to qualify as part of the referral program.

City Year reserves the right to end the referral program for any reason at any time.

Participants in this program are also subject to City Year’s general privacy policies in addition to the terms and conditions outlined here.

Eligibility

Enrollment in the City Year Referral Program is limited to currently serving AmeriCorps members and staff, confirmed corps members serving in the 2022-2023 school year, and City Year alumni:

  • Confirmed 2022-2023 AmeriCorps Member is defined as anyone confirmed to serve as a first year AmeriCorps Member for the 2022-2023 school year AND anyone confirmed to serve as a Returning AmeriCorps Member for the 2022-2023 school year. 
  • Currently Serving AmeriCorps Member is defined as anyone who is currently serving as an AmeriCorps Member during the 2021-2022 school year both as a first year or returning member. This excludes those currently serving as AmeriCorps Member during the 2021-2022 school year who have confirmed to serve as a Returning AmeriCorps Member for the 2022-2023 school year.  
  • Staff member is defined as anyone who is employed by City Year under any employment status and has been issued a cityyear.org email address, including Alumni on staff. This excludes AmeriCorps Members, those who work for the Recruitment & Admissions Team (ACM Talent Acquisition downline in Workday) and those who hold a Community Partnerships Manager /Local Recruiter title at a site. 
  • Alumni is defined as anyone who has completed a City Year AmeriCorps year and graduated. This excludes alumni who are currently serving AmeriCorps members, confirmed 2022-2023 AmeriCorps members, or are current City Year staff members. 

All audiences will be offered incentives for participating in the referral program. To participate, an individual must enroll in the program by signing up through the registration link on or after March 31, 2022.

Incentives, Terms & Conditions

The City Year Recruitment and Admissions referral program is a national program that is launched once per year. It is available to all currently serving City Year AmeriCorps members, confirmed 2022-2023 City Year AmeriCorps members, alumni, and staff according to the stipulations in this document.    

Referrals are defined as new individuals who complete a City Year interest form from the link enrolled participants share. If they’ve previously completed an interest form prior to the launch of this program or complete an interest form other than a referral program interest form, they’re not eligible to be counted as a referral.

All referrals must meet our City Year AmeriCorps member eligibility requirements, which can be found here.

Confirmed 2022-2023 AmeriCorps Members

The confirmed 2022-2023 AmeriCorps member audience will be offered the following incentives:  

  • For every new referral who becomes a confirmed first year AmeriCorps member for the 2022-2023 service year and stays confirmed through June 17, 2022 participants will receive a $100 Visa gift card. 

Terms & Conditions for 2022-2023 AmeriCorps members

In order to be eligible for a $100 Visa gift card, you must:  

  • Have referred one or more eligible individuals who complete your referral form, submit an application, interview, are invited to serve, and confirm their acceptance of their offer to serve. 
  • The confirmed member must be new and accept their invitation to serve as a first year AmeriCorps Member in the 2022-2023 school year. 
  • The confirmed member must confirm by June 17, 2022. 

2021-2022 AmeriCorps Members, Staff & Alumni

The currently serving (2021-2022) AmeriCorps member, City Year staff and alumni audiences will be offered the following incentives: 

  • For every referral who becomes a confirmed first year AmeriCorps member for the 2022-2023 service year, participants will receive a $100 Visa gift card.  
  • For every referral who becomes a confirmed first year AmeriCorps member for the 2022-2023 service year and persists to service, participants will receive a $400 Visa gift card. 

Terms & Conditions for 2021-2022 AmeriCorps Members, Staff & Alumni

If at any time a currently Serving AmeriCorps Member confirms to serve as a Returning AmeriCorps Member for the 2022-2023 corps year, they become ineligible for the incentives provided to currently serving (2021-2022) AmeriCorps members. They would instead become eligible for the incentives provided to 2022-2023 AmeriCorps members. 

If at any time a staff member’s employment status with CIty Year is terminated, the staff member will receive the benefits they have accrued through the date in which they leave. If tht is not after the date for beginning service, they becoming ineligible for the $400 incentive.

In order to be eligible for a $100 Visa gift card, you must:  

  • Have referred one or more eligible individuals who complete your referral form, submit an application, interview, are invited to serve, and confirm their acceptance of their offer to serve. 
  • The confirmed member must be new and accept their invitation to serve as a first year AmeriCorps Member in the 2022-2023 school year. 

In order to be eligible for a $400 Visa gift card, you must:  

  • Have an eligible referral(s) become a confirmed first year AmeriCorps member for the 2022-2023 service year and begins service.   
  • Beginning service is defined as the confirmed member serving with City Year on their start date.

Payment Logistics for Earned Rewards

2022-2023 AmeriCorps Members

Eligible confirmed 2022-2023 AmeriCorps members will receive $100 Visa gift card(s) via email on June 21, 2022. 

Currently serving (2021-2022) AmeriCorps Members

Eligible currently serving (2021-2022) AmeriCorps members, which excludes those returning to serve another year for the 2022-2023 school year, will receive $100 Visa gift card(s) via email on the dates below. 

  • June 27, 2022
  • July 29, 2022
  • August 26, 2022
  • September 9, 2022

$400 Visa gift card(s) will be distributed to all eligible recipients via email one week after the final 2022-2023 first year AmeriCorps Member start date September 9, 2022. 

Staff & Alumni

Eligible staff and Alumni will receive $100 Visa gift card(s) via email one week after each confirmation deadline.
