Regions Foundation Partners with City Year

City Year is proud to announce its new partnership with the philanthropic arm of Regions Bank to advance educational equity in Florida and Louisiana. 

Regions Foundation is investing in City Year in Baton Rouge, Miami, New Orleans and Orlando, where City Year AmeriCorps members support students full time in public schools. 

The foundation is committed to advancing racial equity and helping the communities it serves prosper. Through their investment, Regions Foundation is directly supporting more than 7,500 students in 39 partner schools this school year. 

“City Year and the Regions Foundation are working together to help ensure that more students have the opportunity to learn and grow,” said Meralis Hood, market president for City Year. “By supporting students and schools, we make a lasting difference in our communities.”   

City Year helps create learning environments where students can thrive. City Year AmeriCorps members serve as student success coaches, strengthening the academic, social and emotional skills that help students realize their life and career aspirations. In collaboration with schools and teachers, City Year works to dismantle systemic inequities that disproportionally impact students of color and students growing up in low-income households.
