Join City Year New Hampshire once again for our annual Starry Starry Night Gala at Wentworth by the Sea!
Honoring the Honorable Jackie K. Weatherspoon and Russell Weatherspoon with the Lifetime of Service Award. Their enduring dedication and profound impact on our state and nation are truly commendable.
Jackie Weatherspoon served six years in the New Hampshire House of Representatives serving on the Election Law Committee and General Court of New Hampshire. She has served on the State Advisory Committee of the U.S. Civil Rights Commission, is part of the Harvard Law School Community Mediation Program and serves on the NH Episcopal Diocese Reconciliation Commission.
Russell Weatherspoon has served Phillips Exeter Academy in a variety of teaching and administrative roles for nearly forty years. He began as an instructor in Religion, English, and Drama, and today holds the title of Dean of Students. In that time, he has also been a coach and adviser to the Young Brothers Society, Precision, and Journalists for Human Rights – and is a mentor to many.
Together, Jackie and Russell are the proud parents of four adult children and 10 grandchildren.
And Honoring Maureen Toohey with the new Idealism in Action Award. Maureen is an accomplished attorney, visionary entrepreneur, U.S. Navy veteran, community builder, and global leader in the development of novel, life-saving health technologies. Her transformational leadership has generated impact and improved quality of life for millions across New Hampshire, the Nation, and the globe.
Starry Starry Night is our annual fundraising gala, uniting community and business leaders, citizen supporters, and service champions for an inspiring evening to support the work our AmeriCorps members do for New Hampshire students and schools. The evening will feature engaging programming, a live auction, dinner, and the presentation of the Lifetime of Service and Idealism in Action awards to honor significant and long-lasting contributions to our communities and our state.
