4 City Year locations with great transportation benefits
Living on a stipend, the cost of transportation can become challenging or feel overwhelming. Thanks to generous local partners, many of our AmeriCorps members can commute with a little more peace of mind. Every City Year site has its own set of local partnerships with benefits for their AmeriCorps members. Benefits vary by location; here are four cities with transportation assistance:

Miami
AmeriCorps members serving with City Year Miami receive a free monthly Miami Dade Transit pass, making it easy to tap and go when you board the Metrobus or Metrorail on your way to service. In fact, public transport is so encouraged in Miami, that Miami-Dade Transit shared data on how taking public transportation also improves your health!
AmeriCorps members in Miami enjoy using their pass to get to local music festivals and sporting events. The city also has brand new art and science museums that are accessible from public transit.

New Hampshire
Our City Year New Hampshire AmeriCorps members receive a free monthly Manchester Transit Authority bus pass. The MTA is the largest public transportation provider in the state. The pass covers fares and transfers along all 14 bus routes that sprawl the city. Additionally, City Year AmeriCorps members receive free parking passes for a downtown lot close to the City Year New Hampshire office–which makes carpooling to professional development office days easy!
Monthly savings estimate: $120 ($60 for MTA pass, $60 in parking pass)
San Jose
City Year San Jose AmeriCorps members receive a free VTA pass that works for buses and light rail systems. These bus routes service the Santa Clara Valley area, including the San Jose.
AmeriCorps members frequently use their pass to visit, San Pedro Square, hike in Alum Rock park, visit the Tech Museum or to enjoy local shopping and restaurant life.

San Antonio
Our AmeriCorps members serving in San Antonio receive a free VIA Metropolitan Transit bus pass. The monthly pass allows our corps unlimited rides on all regular and Express bus services. The corps can use their pass to explore San Antonio’s historic sites (like the Alamo) as well as great local museums.
