L.A. Rams and SoFi Make Deep Investment to Support the Students of Crozier Middle School in Inglewood

LA Rams Kicker Matt Gay surprising City Year LA with donation for AmeriCorps team at Crozier Middle School

On Monday, January 11, 2021, City Year LA had a wonderful Zoom celebration hosted by the Los Angeles Rams and their stadium naming rights sponsors, SoFi, in support of the team of City Year LA AmeriCorps members serving at Crozier Middle School in Inglewood.

Special guests included Kevin Demoff, COO of the Los Angeles Rams and CYLA Board Member, Molly Higgins, VP Community Affairs and Engagement for the Rams, Ram’s kicker Matt Gay, as well as Lauren Stafford, Chief Marketing Officer of SoFi.

In addition to a meet-and-greet, Gay surprised the group with a big check for $50,000 – a new sponsorship from SoFi that will support the City Year program for the students at Crozier Middle School in Inglewood to ensure their social-emotional well being during this time of national crisis. As a thank you to the commitment and dedication shown by City Year AmeriCorps members this year, they were each presented with a personalized game ball – one of the highest honors given by the Rams.

Team Leader Jennifer Lopez, shared her appreciation to the partners, “I have a major appreciation to the Rams and SoFi teams for all of their contributions to City Year, Crozier, and the City of Inglewood. It is an honor to be a part of this partnership and to work alongside them to ensure that the Inglewood community is taken care of.”

Another member of the Crozier team, Ray Jackson, enthusiastically shared, “My greatest appreciation is to both of these companies for coming together and partnering with City Year to give back and serve a great cause, one that is bigger than ourselves. This is work with a big purpose, the future. More specifically, the youth. I am so happy to be here.”

The Los Angeles Rams have been proud supporters of City Year Los Angeles since arriving to our city in 2017. We are thrilled to have SoFi join as a champion this year and we are looking forward to the impact we will continue to make in the community of Inglewood together.
