City Year allows young adults to serve as a mentor and tutor for students in schools in one of 29 cities around the U.S. for 11 months.

Deloitte has been an incredible partner in recognizing the key leadership skills our corps members develop during their year of service and how those translate into careers at Deloitte. There are over 40 City Year alumni employed by Deloitte and we are pleased to announce that City Year is now recognized as one of their core recruiting schools. Each City Year team will be invited to a Deloitte Information Session to learn about the job opportunities and will be invited to submit an application and possibly receive interview coaching.
Relocation allowance
All City Year AmeriCorps members who are relocating 50 miles or more for service can receive a $500 (pre-tax) one-time relocation payment after they have started service.
As a member of the federal AmeriCorps program you are eligible to earn the Segal Education award at the completion of your service year. The Segal Education award can go toward pursuing further education, to pay off existing qualified student location or educational travel. For a full-time, 1700-hour service year, this award is currently $7,395.

Our dedicated team of onboarding counselors are here to support incoming City Year AmeriCorps members every step of the way as they prepare for the start of service. Counselors provide city-based information around when to start looking for housing, resources for finding housing and roommates (it’s very common for City Year AmeriCorps members to live together as roommates) and recommendations around where to look for housing.
