Meet City Year Detroit’s Team Cody & Team Law!

City Year Detroit AmeriCorps members serve as Student Success Coaches from the morning bell to the end of the day at ten Detroit Public Schools Community District schools. With attendance, behavior, and coursework as their ABCs, they provide academic coaching and social-emotional mentoring through small-group tutoring and school-wide initiatives. They bring cheer, joy, and fun so that all students feel a sense of belonging. Get to know our extraordinary school teams at Marion Law Academy and Cody High School!

Team Law tutors and mentors students in 3rd through 8th grade and is led by Impact Manager Kendall Lindsey.

Team Law enjoys laughing, eating, and having fun. This team is great because they have developed amazing relationships with each other, the students, and the school staff. This is the first year of City Year’s partnership with Marion Law, and it has been amazing to witness their impact thus far!

Team Cody tutors and mentors 9th-grade students and is led by Impact Manager Latrell Bradshaw.

Team Cody is a resilient group of student success coaches who continuously show up day in and day out. The group loves to unwind and joke with one another, and play a good competitive game of Uno. When they aren’t serving, they enjoy taking team trips to Target. This team is a dynamic and positive force for our high school scholars.
