Andrea Campbell and Diane Patrick to Headline City Year Boston’s Legal Community Breakfast

Boston City Council President, former First Lady of Massachusetts will share personal stories of leadership with more than 400 lawyers in support of City Year’s service to the Boston Public Schools

BOSTON, Mass. — Newly elected Boston City Council President Andrea Campbell will address more than 400 leaders from the Greater Boston legal community on Friday, March 2, 2018 at City Year Boston’s Legal Community Breakfast. She will speak to her journey from BPS student to Princeton and UCLA law graduate, counsel for Governor Deval Patrick, and the first African-American woman to serve as Council President. Together with Diane Patrick, Senior Counsel at Ropes & Gray and former First Lady of Massachusetts, they will share how the region’s legal leaders can help create opportunity for Boston youth.

The breakfast uniquely gathers more than 400 local lawyers in support of education programs, representing 60 firms and companies, including firm leaders, general counsel, and legal service providers. Now in its 9th year, the Legal Community Breakfast raises critical funds and awareness to support City Year Boston’s service to the Boston Public Schools. This year, 289 diverse young people are serving with City Year full-time across 23 schools as tutors and mentors to more than 12,000 students, ensuring they stay on track to high school graduation.
