Join City Year Boston for our annual Holiday Service Event – this year, entirely virtual!
Each year, City Year Boston brings together hundreds of volunteers in December in support of Boston students and teachers. This year, we will be offering four, 100-person virtual service event sessions. Throughout these sessions, volunteers will be creating over 2,000 kits to support Boston schools this winter. Volunteers will have the option to have supplies shipped directly to them, or stop by City Year’s office to pick up supplies. For details on logistics, see below.

Tuesday, December 8th from 5 pm – 6:30 pm

Wednesday, December 9th from 10 am – 11:30 am

Thursday, December 10th from 12 pm – 1:30 pm

Friday, December 11th from 3 pm – 4:30 pm
How to participate in our 2020 Holiday Service Event
- Register
All volunteers must register to attend this virtual event. - Select how you want to receive materials
If you would prefer to receive your materials by mail, please register no later than 11/27.
If you would prefer curbside pickup, please register no later than 12/2. - Ready your materials
Upon receipt, we encourage volunteers to inspect their box. If any supplies are missing, please email Bethany Reynolds. - Attend the event
On event day, City Year Boston’s Civic Engagement team will virtually lead you in your project. You will also get to know more about our organization and the impact your service will have on our students and communities! - Return your completed project to City Year
Once projects are completed, we ask that you send them back using the provided pre-paid shipping label no more than 2 weeks after your event date. (You may also sign up for a curbside drop-off!) - Schools receive your projects!
The Civic Engagement team will proudly distribute the projects to our BPS partner schools.
Want to be even more involved?
This holiday season, City Year Boston has two opportunities to further your support of Boston students:
- Donate additional school supplies for our students and schools. This is a great option to combine with curbside pickup or dropoff.
- Host your own service workshop! If you’re a CY service pro, ask your friends and family to join you to create even more items for students and schools.
