We're leaders for life
City Year alumni take up the challenge of becoming Leaders for Life. They are able to work with others to address the needs of their communities and continue to drive positive change where they live and work long after they have taken off their City Year jackets.
Staying involved with City Year means having continued access to personal and professional growth opportunities, as well as unique service pathways to help make a difference in your community.
As an alum, your relationship with the City Year community offers you exciting networking and learning experiences that help enhance your career goals and objectives. You join a diverse community of 32,000+ strong who are powerfully positioned to make thoughtful contributions to our civic life.

Support our current AmeriCorps members
One of the most important ways you can continue to support City Year and our mission is to get involved with our currently serving AmeriCorps members. Just as you were a near-peer mentor for students when you served, as an alum, your experiences and insights are invaluable in helping current AmeriCorps members succeed in their work—and in their life and careers beyond City Year.
Professional networking events
Share your past education and career experiences with local City Year AmeriCorps members. During this networking event, you’ll be able to answer questions from the current corps to help them prepare for the next chapter of their professional or academic lives.
Our mentor program
Support the professional development and service experience of AmeriCorps members. Mentoring can happen through formalized one-on-one mentor matching programs or informally through team buddy programs where alumni are matched with an AmeriCorps member team.
