George Washington University’s School of Business offers City Year AmeriCorps members, alums and staff

$25,000 scholarships

A $25,000 tuition scholarship will be awarded annually to up to three City Year recipients who pursue the full-time Global Master of Business Administration program.

This scholarship dollar amount is not renewable for the second year but will be dispersed between the duration of the program at a set rate to be determined in the scholarship award letter.

Scholarships are awarded to City Year AmeriCorps members and alums who complete at least one term of service and City Year staff employed for at least two years.

The scholarships described above represent the minimum awards; applicants will be considered for additional merit-based aid based on the academic strength of their application.

• Enrollment deferral: a one-year deferral for students who are admitted to the program and who decide to serve additional time with City Year before starting their studies with the School of Business.

To identify your City Year affiliation

To identify your City Year affiliation, please request a service verification letter by emailing alumni@cityyear.org with “GW MBA: City Year verification letter request” in the subject line. Within the email, include the site where you served and your AmeriCorps graduation month and year. This letter will be sent electronically by City Year to the admissions office and added to your applicant file.

To access the application fee waiver and apply for the scholarship

To get the application fee waived and be considered for the scholarship, please select “pay by check” when you get to the section of the application that requires you to pay for the application. Once the admissions office receives your service verification letter, they will then verify your application fee waiver in the system and consider you for the scholarship.
