Ilene Jacobs

Ilene B. Jacobs retired in 2002 as executive vice president, human resources, of FMR Corp., the holding company for the businesses of Fidelity Investments, the nation’s largest mutual fund company and a leading brokerage firm. She joined Fidelity in 1998 and was responsible for the company’s corporate human resources functions.
Previously, Ilene was with Digital Equipment Corporation (now Hewlett Packard) for 24 years, the last two as senior vice president for human resources, and was a member of Digital’s executive committee. Prior to this post, she held several senior executive positions, including vice president and treasurer, and assistant treasurer. She also served as the chair of the board of directors of the National Association of Corporate Treasurers.
Prior to joining Digital, she was an officer with Shawmut Bank from 1969 to 1974.
Born in 1947, Ilene earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Russian from the University of Massachusetts in 1969, graduating magna cum laude and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She attended the advanced management program at Harvard Business School.
In addition to her service on the national board of trustees of City Year, Inc. as vice chair and chair of the finance committee, Ilene currently serves on the board of trustees of the Celebrity Series of Boston.
