Journaling Proves to Be A Multi-Tool for Student Learning & Expression

Coming into City Year, Raven Watkins was eager to start her journey of being a mentor and support system for her students, however finding a method of connecting to create relationships with them without them feeling like she was trying to invade their privacy made her a bit nervous. But, when Raven started journaling with her students, particularly English language learners, she realized she found a tool that would not only help them learn English, but could also help them build trust in her and confidence in themselves.
