Every day looks different at our schools. Here is a peek into one day last week with the team from Graham Hill Elementary School with our guide, Team Leader Akhila Sriram.
We start our whale-y good days off in our portable with a team circle! We share announcements, JARs (joys, appreciations, and ripples) and start the day off by being silly and lighthearted together!
Every school does morning greeting for their students throughout the week. At Graham Hill, we do high elbows instead of high fives because of... germs... but the kids are all into our quirky morning greeting for all of them!
Mr. Chris doing morning supervision of four square before the students are picked up by their teachers to head to their classrooms.
Whale tails are the school currency at our school! Our students earn them for following the Graham Hill Way of being sage, kind, respectful and responsible.
The fifth graders had a walking field trip to Seward Park to explore the park and learn about the flora and fauna from guides from the Audobon Society. And they wrapped up the trip with a huge game of hide and seek tag with sueprvising City Years and teachers!
We finished our day with a team bonding outing to Molly Moon's for ice cream! Our team LOVES food so our outings as a team and our treats during work are usually focused around tasty food!
Thanks for coming along with me for a day at Graham Hill. We would love to have you join us in person- contact Alissa Schneider (firstname.lastname@example.org) to sign up for a school visit!
