CaliforniaVolunteers is the state office that manages programs and initiatives aimed at increasing the number of Californians engaged in service and volunteering.
City Year partners with Sacramento City Unified School District (SCUSD) and St. HOPE Public Schools to provide full-time, targeted intervention for students most at-risk. Our teams of young leaders support students – before, during, and after school – through in-class tutoring, mentoring, and after school programming that keeps them in school and on track to graduate.

Red Jacket Society Members
The City Year jacket brings hope, inspiration, caring and support. The Yellow Circle of the Red Jacket Society is a community of philanthropic individuals and families who believe in the power of the City Year Yellow Jacket and the AmeriCorps Service Members who wear them. We have big goals: to help thousands more children graduate from high school college- and career-ready.
Yellow Circle member commitments of $10,000 or more directly make possible the work of the nearly 70 City Year AmeriCorps members serving in Sacramento and helping nearly 4,000 children reach their potential.
