We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals – Black Friday and Cyber Monday. And now, we have a day for giving back.

#GivingTuesday, held this year on Tuesday, Dec. 2, is a global day dedicated to celebrating generosity. City Year Sacramento is excited to participate in this movement to transform how people around the world think about, talk about and participate in the giving season.

Coinciding with the Thanksgiving holiday and the kickoff of the holiday shopping season, #GivingTuesday harnesses the power of social media to inspire people to take collaborative action to improve their local communities, give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they support, and help create a better world.

City Year Sacramento has set the goal of raising $2,000 on #GivingTuesday, enough to fund our one-to-one small-group coursework in one school for one day.

Help City Year Sacramento meet its #GivingTuesday goal by donating at http://www.bitly.com/givetosac on Dec. 2! Your generosity means so much to the students and families who will benefit from your support.
