Metro, Schneps Media honors Philadelphia Power List leaders

Metro

The city’s most influential leaders were honored by Metro Philadelphia and Schneps Media on Tuesday night, with a star-studded celebration. For close to 20 years, Schneps Media has named influential people to the Power List and Tuesday night marked the inaugural Philadelphia edition.

The Philadelphia Power List event took place at Brooklyn Bowl and honored Philly’s most influential who have made an important impact on the city. Executive leaders working in a variety of fields including healthcare, finance, education, public relations and fashion, among many others, were honored for their continued commitment, impact and influence across the city of Philadelphia.

“I am truly humbled and honored to receive this from Schneps Media and Metro Philly,” said HughE Dillon, founder of PhillyChitChat, and one of the Power List honorees. “I have attended a lot of Power List events for other people… the mission of connecting people making an impact was an angle I haven’t seen before. I appreciate this, especially knowing that Metro Philly nominated me.”

“All I can say is, ‘WOW!’ To be in the room with such a superb group of people was good enough, but the synergy from my fellow power players was one of excitement, positivity, and enjoyment,” added Dr. Robin Cooper, President and Principal Officer of Teamsters Local 502 CASA, also a Power List honoree. “The hosts and hostesses did an outstanding job of providing an atmosphere for networking. People always want to be in the room where it happens. I’m glad that I was in the room where it was happening.”

“It was an absolute honor to be named to the Metro Philadelphia Power List. What made it even more special was being part of the inaugural class for this event,” said honoree Kory Aversa, of Aversa PR. “The Power List award ceremony was truly unlike anything else I have been to in Philadelphia. I have never been to a business award ceremony that was so electric, so upbeat and so unique — it was everything you would expect for such a unique city.

“I really loved how diverse the honoree and award winner list was — it was one of the most diverse award rosters I have ever seen, and every single list of power players in Philadelphia should take note and follow suit,” Aversa added. “It was a who’s who of the city’s top Black, Latino, female and LGBTQ leaders all together, sharing their experiences and triumphs and words of inspiration in one room. What an inspiring night.”

“Schneps Media really puts together great events where all kinds of sectors can interact and network from small nonprofits to large for-profit businesses,” said Mayra Linares-Garcia of Liberty Coca-Cola. “The Philly Power List was fun throughout the evening for sure.”

“This event highlighted the commitment of dedicated leaders from across many different sectors to work to enhance and build community across Philadelphia. It was a great evening to showcase their energy and leadership,” added Heather Keafer, Chief of Communications, JEVS Human Services.

Metro Philadelphia teamed up with MANNA as a charity partner for the event. MANNA’s mission is to provide medically tailored meals to those with a critical illness. The organization is known as a leader in evidence-based nutrition services as well, offering hands-on cooking classes and nutrition counseling while bringing together dietitians, chefs, drivers, and thousands of volunteers. All proceeds from Tuesday evening’s raffle were donated to MANNA.

“The entire Metro Philadelphia team is proud to honor this exceptional group of people that have accomplished so much,” said Dan Sarko, publisher of Metro Philadelphia. “To have the opportunity to network and listen to the stories from each of these individuals was truly inspiring.”

From all of us at Schneps Media and Metro Philadelphia, thank you to the honorees — you have collectively made Philadelphia a better place to live, work and explore.
