Don’t Call it a Comeback: A Service Leader’s Story
“Prior to City Year, I was of the mind that there would always be time to serve ‘later.’ Consumed by the goal of becoming a doctor, I rationalized my priorities away from fighting inequity or seeking justice because I assumed that my skill set at the time wouldn’t be much help. Going forward, I have no problem calling my previous notions, as my kids would say, trash.”

Our AmeriCorps members accomplish amazing things both within and outside of their years of service. This year, Northwest’s own Olga Remesha became a U.S. Citizen, and was accompanied by her team during her citizenship ceremony. Check out this interview between Andrew Morin and Olga as they discuss the eventful day.
