The City Year Summer Leadership Academy is a knowledgeable experience for many staff and AmeriCorps members who attend. The week is filled with trainings, workshops, professional development, ceremonies and thousands of City Year uniforms all over the Northeastern University campus in Boston. In addition, it was a time to celebrate successes. A moment that allowed City Year New Hampshire (CYNH) to celebrate was by once again receiving the Stephen G. Woodsum Best of City Year Award from the City Year Inc.
This is the ninth year in a row that CYNH has received the honor, which is given annually to select City Year sites that have performed exceptionally against numerous benchmarks. The benchmarks include student impact, corps member retention and experience, financial health, network’s involvement, effective engagement, and more. CYNH was selected along with five other sites out of 26 across the country this year, and led the network in corps member satisfaction survey results.
City Year CEO and Co-Founder, Michael Brown said, "The Best of City Yearaward is a terrific honor. It is an annual recognition of a site within the City Year network that performs at the highest level of excellence. Thisrecognition is a tribute to City Year New Hampshire's consistent - and trulyimpressive - excellence and success. Congratulations to Pawn Nitichan, CityYear New Hampshire's Executive Director, the City Year New Hampshire staff and corps, and the City Year New Hampshire Board on this well-deserved award."
"We are so thrilled to receive this award," said CYNH Executive Director Pawn Nitichan. "This acknowledgement represents a tremendous amount of hard work and collaboration between City Year New Hampshire, our partners and supporters. This award represents a team effort. Our team is comprised by so many dedicated individuals including CYNH board members, the teacher and administration at our partnering schools, sponsors, donors, our committed staff team and our community. We especially want to acknowledge the incredible 15th Anniversary Corps who dedicate a year of their lives to do this work. This is an incredible way to end our CYNH 15th Anniversary celebrations.”
