The state of inspiration and majestic beauty

New Hampshire is one of the great gems of New England. Nicknamed the “Switzerland of
America,” you cannot help but take in the beautiful views of the White Mountains and granite
rock formations. Robert Frost, Henry David Thoreau, J.D. Salinger and Augustus
Saint-Gaudens all have something in common. They are among some of the most gifted literary
and artistic contributors of our time and drew much of their inspiration from the natural beauty of
New Hampshire. With the outdoors as your playground, hike the Flume, a natural gorge at the
base of Mount Liberty or go leaf peeping in the Fall to see the changing colors of the foliage.
There is a true sense of community here in New Hampshire. Meet local farmers and artisans at
year-round markets or head to Dartmouth College for their annual powwow to celebrate Native
American culture.
