An Update on the Network for School Improvement Program
This year, City Year Milwaukee was chosen to be a part of the Network for School Improvement pilot program. Together, Milwaukee Public Schools, the Johns Hopkins University Everyone Graduates Center and City Year, work with a collection of school teams to improve the outcomes for Black, Latino and low income, 8th grade students. "As a City Year Milwaukee AmeriCorps member, I have the opportunity to tutor and mentor 9th grade students every day. As a corps member, I see the importance of supporting students with academics and social emotional learning to help them reach their full potential. Yet, there is also incredible value in presenting students with exciting experiences outside of the classroom to engage with learning in different ways."
