Welcome to the new location of Rufus King International Middle School (RKIMS)! This school year the students, faculty and staff are excited to have moved to a larger, newly-renovated home.

"Schools that try to do everything are likely to accomplish nothing well. We are taking one step at a time with our new building and making it our very own."

-Ms. Tamera Ellis (Principal).

Our location features a full auditorium where we have our Monday and Friday morning assemblies for the students, faculty and staff to gather. On January 12th, 2017 we will be having our Winter Fest which will be a concert and family event to celebrate our community and to honor our Championship Girls Basketball team. We have a re-vamped gymnasium that we are hoping to use for future sporting events and community rooms that are available for use.  Additionally, we have three science/engineering laboratories complete with brand new computers.

While all these physical upgrades are awesome, we know that RKIMS is much more than just an exciting new building:

"Rufus King is a brand new school for me this year. I was super nervous since all my friends went to a different school but now I have all new textbooks, really cool chromebooks, the science room is tight and our school has City Year. My friends in other schools don't have that. I'm glad my mom made me come here."

On January 16th, 2017 City Year Milwaukee will be hosting its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service at our school. During this day of service hundreds of volunteers from the community along with City Year corps members and staff will work together to beautify the school even further. Projects that are going to be completed will include decorating the hallways with student designed murals, inspirational quotes and much more.
