City Year Milwaukee, an education-focused nonprofit that unites young people for a year of service in high-need schools, announces new board member, M. Beth Straka, Senior Vice President – corporate communications and investor relations for WEC Energy Group.

M. Beth Straka became Senior Vice President – corporate communications and investor relations for WEC Energy Group in June 2015. In addition, she serves as Vice President of the We Energies and Wisconsin Public Service foundations.

City Year Milwaukee AmeriCorps members serve full-time in 13 Milwaukee Public Schools reaching nearly 8,000 students each day. City Year AmeriCorps members partner with teachers and principals to provide academic and social-emotional support to students, helping them stay on track to graduate from high school prepared for college and career success.
