Karmin-Tia Greer began her City Year career in 2011 with City Year San Antonio, where she developed and managed partnerships with school administration and community partners of the City of San Antonio’s Eastside Promise Neighborhood which was later included in President’s Obama’s Promise Zone Initiative. 

  

In 2013, when City Year San Antonio surpassed an AmeriCorps member size of 100, Karmin-Tia became the site's Chief of Staff, where she was responsible for overseeing site operations, board relations, and advancing City Year San Antonio’s Long Term Impact plan with the help of city officials, community leaders and local school districts. Her work directly led to a multi-year contract with the City of San Antonio and an increase in district funding of nearly a quarter of million dollars. 

  

Originally from Houston Texas, Karmin-Tia is dedicated to serving her community and takes a vested interest in her professional development. Outside of her professional work, Karmin-Tia has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of San Antonio, an Appointed Commissioner with the City of San Antonio’s Martin Luther King Jr. Commission, President of the San Antonio-Austin Hampton Alumni Association, a member of United Way of San Antonio & Bexar County Emerging Leaders Council. Karmin-Tia is a graduate of Hampton University and has her Master of Public Administration degree from St. Mary's University, and she is currently working towards her Doctorate of Education at Northeastern University. Karmin-Tia was also a member of the 2015 LEAD City Year cohort.
