Read to Succeed: Hollenbeck Middle School’s 25 Book Campaign

In an effort to motivate students to become life-long readers, Hollenbeck Middle School in Boyle Heights hosts a “25 Book Campaign” each year. The campaign asks students to read 25 books equaling a million and a half words in total throughout the school year.

For Students at Normandie Ave. Elementary, Good Behavior Reaps Rewarded

In front of an audience of over one thousand elementary school students, two lines of corps members walked across the stage. The group given the role of “Good Kids” walked quietly across the stage with our hands behind our backs. The other half of my team, the “Bad Kids,” threw trash, talked, and pushed one another.

A Cornucopia of Activity at John Liechty Middle School

Close your eyes and imagine a world of red jackets creeping through school halls, with eyes dark as night searching for a whole school community. The Sony Team at John Liechty Middle School (JLMS) kicked off All Hallow’s Eve with a flash mob.
