Gratitude is a daily practice in City Year culture. We begin and end each day with a team circle to face our teammates and express moments of joy and appreciation for one another. Our corps is halfway through their eleven-month promise to serve in Los Angeles' highest-need urban schools. Like so many administrators and teachers, City Year AmeriCorps members are often among the first ones on campus, and the last ones to leave. They are fueled by one purpose: to ensure that students reach graduation, college and career ready

The days wear long on our AmeriCorps members, and in the month of March, they feel it the most.

To recognize them for their commitment and reenergize them in their final stretch of service, City Year has designated March as City Year AmeriCorps Member Appreciation Month to thank the corps for their service to students, schools, and communities.

To honor their service, we joined forces with several sponsors including the City Year Los Angeles Associates Board, Clippers, Cedars-Sinai, Comcast NBCUniversal, Disney, Fox Searchlight, Riot Games, Hollywood Wax Museum/ Guinness World Record Museum, Rosenthal Family Foundation, Soulcycle, Sony, Headspace, GoGo Squeez, Bare Snacks, L.A. Galaxy, City Year L.A. Alumni, and RealD. Below are highlights from the month, including special meals, professional trainings, gifts, and activities provided by our gracious sponsors. We hope the extra encouragement and appreciation will help our City Year corps stay energized and excited to finish the year strong!

Thank you, Riot Games, for opening your doors to the Jordan High School team for an informative tour of your offices.

Thank you, Sony for inviting our corps to visit your campus to learn more about the magic of movies.
