One of City Year’s core principals is the belief that national service is an experience that has the ability to provide a dual benefit: it helps students with the highest needs reach their fullest potential, and it develops AmeriCorps members into civic-minded leaders of tomorrow.

Bank of America, one of our longest-standing partners, recently announced a $25,000 grant to City Year Los Angeles in support of leadership training for AmeriCorps members.

“City Year L.A. AmeriCorps represent the best and brightest of their generation, and we believe that they will become the leaders of tomorrow,” said Raul A. Anaya, Los Angeles market president, Bank of America. “By partnering with City Year L.A., we are investing in the next generation of leaders and ensuring that they continue to serve as change agents to help our most vulnerable communities thrive.”

Thanks to public-private partnerships such as this, City Year is able to unleash the full power of a year of service. Through key leadership opportunities, regular learning summits, leadership roles, monthly workshops and more, our AmeriCorps members receive real-world skills that serve them throughout their professional career, all while changing the lives of their students.
