Lights! Camera! Action! On May 4th, the City Year team at Manual Arts High School joined forces with AT&T, a Diploma’s Now sponsor, to kick off Teacher Appreciation Week with an Oscar-themed luncheon for the school staff. The day began with volunteers from AT&T engaging in a service project with students centered on City Year’s 50 Acts of Leadership program that helps students build character strengths. AT&T and students created poetry posters about appreciating staff and faculty. City Year AmeriCorps members and AT&T volunteers then finished decorating the lunchroom for teachers and creating goodie bags.
“The event changed the vibe on campus! Everyone felt special for the day,” said AmeriCorps Member Ashley Cisneros.
City Year was thrilled to participate in such a meaningful event. Thank you AT&T for all the continued support!
