Assistant Instructor

Calling all Changemakers!

Girls at Work, Inc., a 501c3 nonprofit located in Manchester, NH, is expanding and we are looking to add Assistant Instructors to our team! Our woodworking programs empower girls through building. However, you don’t need experience in woodworking to apply. If you love the idea of empowering girls, raising the bar of low expectations for them from society, challenging students to think critically, and have the desire to be a part of an awesome, supportive staff, we’d love to meet you!

We pride ourselves in having built a powerful environment that encourages girls to believe in themselves, even on their most difficult days. Our Socratic approach to building enables us to train interested individuals – even those who are not woodworkers – on how to teach in our workshops. Our goal is to teach the girls to use power tools safely while encouraging them to think critically about how each project is built. The experience of building with power tools elevates self-confidence and self-esteem which leads to a new narrative for our girls, one of strength and courage. It’s an awesome experience for both the girls and instructors.

Job Title: Assistant Instructor (both woodworking and STEM instructor positions available)

Job Type: Part Time (but close to 40 hours per week during Summer Camp!)

Hourly Rate: $15/hr
