Our incredible partners at Sea Best have enjoyed many of the benefits of supporting City Year Jacksonville as a Team Sponsor. Sea Best sponsors the City Year AmeriCorps team serving William M. Raines High School and has engaged in providing a unique corps members experience.

In the past few months alone, Sea Best hosted their team for a lunch and tour of the Beaver Street Fisheries operations. Next, Chef Tom provided a career talk and seafood preparation demonstration for the culinary students at Raines High School.

“Sea Best makes a real difference because they  take the time to know our AmeriCorps members on a personal level." - Anjum Somji, City Year Program Manager at Raines High School.

Just this past Sunday, Sea Best treated their team of 8 City Year AmeriCorps members to a game-day experience during the Jacksonville Armada match against the San Antonio Scorpions.

“From the tour and school visit to the Armada game, Sea Best goes the extra mile to support us, which pushes our team to go any distance for our students.” - Victoria Riley, AmeriCorp Member serving at Raines High School.

On May 6, Mark Frisch, Executive Vice President at Beaver Street Fisheries, joined our entire corps and staff for an hour-long discussion in our “Learning from Leaders” series. When asked about community engagement, Mark stressed the importance of having a community that is wired to give.

“You either choose to be an active citizen or you don’t.
I wake up every day wanting to make Jacksonville  or at least one person’s day better.”
- Mark Frisch

City Year Jacksonville is thankful that Sea Best consistently chooses to be an active part of developing leaders and changing lives in our schools.
