What were you doing before City Year?

"Getting my degree in Biology at St. Olaf College." 

Why did you choose to serve?

"To instill in youth the power of education.​" 

 

How have you been challenged?

"I have been challenged in many ways but one of the most challenging parts of my service experience is not being able to meet the needs of all of my students.​"

City Year culture is a big part of your service year. What was your favorite culture piece. Why?

"Power Greeting has been a huge part of my service year. Greeting studetns to school with song, dance and cheer has continually uplifted my spirits and helped build a positive school climate."

How have you been personally impacted?

"I've become more grateful and empathetic."

How do you know you've made an impact?

"When my school administration tells me were doing a great job."

If happiness was the national currency, what kind of job would make you rich?

"If happiness were currency, I'd be a fishing charter captain who helps disadvantaged kids catch their first sea monster!"
