City Year Jacksonville and The Jacksonville Jaguars Foundation are proud to partner to recognize the commitment and service of City Year AmeriCorps members through The Shad Khan and Harry Frisch Fellowship. The fellowship will provide an annual scholarship of $2,500 for one City Year Jacksonville Alumnus who is continuing their education as part of their Leadership After City Year.

The Jacksonville Jaguars Foundation first partnered with City Year Jacksonville as the Team Sponsor at Matthew Gilbert Middle School in 2014-2015. In 2016, they became a strategic partner supporting City Year Jacksonville’s long-term impact plan to scale into the Raines and Ribault High School feeder patterns.

Additionally, Beaver Street Fisheries has partnered with City Year Jacksonville at William M Raines High School since the 2013-2014 School Year. They are an integral part of the success of the team of AmeriCorps members serving at Raines supporting their experience throughout the year alongside providing enrichment activities for the students at Raines High School

The owners of these two incredible organizations, Harry Frisch, owner of international seafood supplier Beaver Street Fisheries, and Shad Khan, owner of Flex-N-Gate, the Jacksonville Jaguars and Fulham F.C., share a common bond that starts with their incredible stories of coming to the United States as immigrants with very little to becoming two of the most influential leaders in Jacksonville. Their common values of commitment to family, democracy, free-enterprise and hard work helped them to achieve all of their successes today. Through their personal philanthropic endeavors, both Shad and Harry continue to support the community with a specific emphasis on education and vocational training.
