Annual Fountain Bistro Fundraiser a Success!
On Tuesday, May 13th, Matthew Morin, Kevin Morin and J. Lambrecht hosted an exciting evening of live music, delicious drinks, and gourmet food with all profits benefiting City Year Detroit. The Fountain Bistro restaurant, in the heart of Detroit's revitalized downtown, provided an upscale backdrop for a group of new friends of City Year to mingle, enjoy the live band and learn about the direct services provided by City Year Detroit's 71 young idealist corps members. In particular, guests met Kelly Grahl, a corps members who serves at Clippert Multicultural Academy, who shared about his day-to-day work with Alma, a 7th grader who needs time and safe space just to be a kid. Event Chair Matthew Morin shared his interpretation of "The Starfish" story, one of City Year's Founding Stories. Matt spoke of the need to support City Year - "we all can help - that's what Detroit is all about."
Thanks go to Matt Morin, and the remainder of the host committee: Patrick Batcheller; Bill Cooper, Miguel Davis, Nicole Eisenmann, Lisa Fiema, Marcie Levey, Kevin Morin, Ashley Moritz, Michael Perotta, Terri Schroeder and Andy Spearmen.
