City Year Columbia focuses its impact in three major areas:

1. Students & Schools — Many students face challenges due to a lack of the support and resources they need to reach their full potential. City Year Columbia provides Student Success Coaches who serve as mentors, tutors, and positive role models, helping students stay engaged, overcome challenges, and succeed in school and beyond.
2. AmeriCorps Members — Our AmeriCorps Members dedicate themselves to “service to a cause greater than self.” Through their service, they make a meaningful difference in the lives of students and communities while developing the skills, experience, and leadership needed to become our next generation of college- and career-ready leaders.
3. Community — City Year Columbia works to strengthen the community through hands-on service projects that address local needs and support neighborhoods and individuals who could use a helping hand.
