George Washington Carver K-8 STEM School

Built in 2011, George Washington Carver school (PreK-8) focuses on an applied science curriculum that only during the last few years has been generally popularized as STEM education. Hands-on science has always been important at the school; the preschool room has a touch-screen smart board, and middle school students use college-level computer-aided-design software. STEM education is meant to prepare students for life beyond the classroom by training them to understand and solve practical problems, thereby improving their competitiveness in the global job market.
