Ambassador_Circle_Event

City Year Boston’s Ambassador Circle is a volunteer group of socially conscious and motivated young professionals who are committed to advancing the mission and values of City Year. Members will have the opportunity to connect with peers, engage in meaningful volunteer opportunities, and develop leadership skills, while making a positive impact on our community and the students of Boston. Exclusive engagement opportunities include access to special events, networking opportunities with City Year board leadership, school-based volunteer projects, and professional development programming. 

Ambassador Circle Member Expectations:

In coordination with City Year Boston staff and Ambassador Circle Leadership Committee, members are expected to:

  • Develop an understanding and passion for City Year Boston’s vision, mission, goals and service model.
  • Help us grow our footprint in the Boston community by spreading the word about City Year’s work and events to your personal and professional networks.
  • Make your annual contribution to City Year Boston by June 30, 2018.

Membership Levels and Benefits

Bridge Builder – $500 level ($42/mo)

The Bridge Builder Level includes access to a robust calendar of events including school-based volunteer opportunities, exclusive events, and networking opportunities with Ambassadors and City Year Board leadership. Ambassadors at this level are required to secure $500 for City Year Boston within the fiscal year of their involvement but have the option to procure part of their membership commitment from outside resources (corporate sponsorship, fundraising campaign, etc.)

Starfish – $250 level ($21/mo)

The Starfish Level includes access to regular volunteer and networking opportunities with fellow Ambassadors. Ambassadors at this level are required to secure $250 for City Year Boston within the fiscal year of their involvement but have the option to procure part of their membership commitment from outside resources (corporate sponsorship, fundraising campaign, etc.)

 

Sample Engagement Opportunities

SEPTEMBER

RED JACKET WEEKEND Join us for a Friday evening reception with other volunteer leaders and a service event on Saturday (friends and family welcome).

CITY YEAR BOSTON’S MENTOR PROGRAM Serve as a mentor for first-year AmeriCorps members, lending career advice and supporting them through the job search process as they prepare for life after City Year.

NOVEMBER

THANKSGIVING SERVICE DAY Gather colleagues or friends to join you for a fun day of service to support Boston’s communities during the holiday season. Volunteer projects include baking pies, making student resource kits, and more!

DECEMBER

REPORT CARD CONFERENCING Engage in a short conversation with a student about the student’s grades, attendance, and action plan for improvement.

JANUARY

18 MINUTE NETWORKING Volunteer your time to speak to small groups of corps members who are interested in pursuing a career in your industry.

FEBRUARY

LUNCH & LEARN (QUARTERLY) Join us for lunch and conversation with City Year Leadership surrounding urban education, national service, social justice issues, and more.

APRIL

OUR CITY, OUR SCHOOLS This annual spring event unites a diverse audience of Boston-area young professionals to build community, hear from local leadership, and discuss issues in the urban education landscape.

MAY

NATIONAL LEADERSHIP SUMMIT Gather with leaders from the education, business, government, and philanthropic communities to discuss City Year’s plans for long-term impact.

STARRY STARRY NIGHT ANNUAL DINNER As an ambassador at the Bridge Builder level, you can receive entry to City Year’s Starry Night gala ($1,000 value) for an inspiring night of celebration.

JUNE

SEVEN GENERATIONS BOARD YEAR-END PARTY Celebrate the year with board leadership!

JULY

UBUNTU NIGHT This annual Summer Academy event features musical acts, spoken word, and many other creative pieces that celebrate our shared humanity and purpose.
