photo: CYB Marathon team member Jesse Carmen '14 had an admirably high amount of energy, even, as shown here, in the final leg of the race.

It was a beautiful day yesterday at the 121st annual Boston Marathon; the atmosphere of positivity, encouragement, solidarity and resilience was palpable in the crowds and on the racecourse. Over 30,000 runners from around the country and world converged on the city to take part in the race. Among those many thousands were the five members of the 2017 CYB Boston Marathon team, who not only crushed it on the racecourse but also collectively raised over $60,000 for our service with Boston Public Schools students!

In addition to our team, we are proud of the many City Year Boston alumni who ran for other notable causes. Alumnus David Kaplan ran to benefit the Martin Richard Charitable Foundation.

Thank you to the John Hancock Non-Profit Marathon Program and to Gold Sponsor Turkish Airlines. If you are interested in running for Team CYB in 2018, please contact Becca at bcanavan@cityyear.org
