On Tuesday, Boston Public Schools announced that the high school graduation rate for BPS students continued its decade-long improvement in 2016 with a record-setting 72.4 percent of students receiving a diploma in four years.
The increase highlights an upward trajectory in graduation rates since 2006 when the rate was just over 59 percent. Special recognition was given to the Jeremiah E. Burke High School, which had a graduation rate of 74 percent in 2016 and 71.1 percent in 2015; compared to 43.5 percent in 2006. City Year Boston is so proud to serve alongside the brilliant scholars and educators at the Burke and throughout the 21 schools we serve with. Please visit the BPS website to read the full release.
