Kanna Kunchala decided at an early age to make service a part of his life. Born in India, he immigrated with his family to the United States at the age of 4. Inspired by the ethics and hard work of his parents, Kanna, while at Harvard, began volunteering in schools, teaching and mentoring students toward greater academic success. Compelled to continue giving back to his community post undergrad, he landed in the first AmeriCorps Cohort at City Year. This is his story.
