At Melrose, our mission statement is to strive for a more unified community and nation. The desire to create an environment where we can bridge the gap between the community and our students and give them the support they deserve. On Saturday, the Melrose team along with other AmeriCorps members took on the task of beautifying our beloved Melrose Elementary. What a great way to start off the fall season!

The beautification project included redoing our Bulldog Garden and planting a variety of vegetables such as broccoli, turnips, cabbage, carrots and many others. The team also repainted the green and yellow arrows and paw prints so our students can stay on the right paths in the hallways to and from their classrooms. When Melrose principal, Olga Pack, stopped by to see the progress that we had completed, she was overjoyed and grateful of the work that was completed. We are excited to see how the rest of the students, staff, and administration will react to the garden and other improvements next week. The Melrose team is excited about the new improvements to our campus. We are also grateful to our fellow AmeriCorps members for making our beatification project a success.
