Free summer housing
Free summer housing (a maximum value of $1,620) will be provided annually on a first-come, first-served basis for all eligible City Year applicants who enroll in a Graduate Liberal Studies summer term course for credit.
The summer housing benefit covers only the time period of the course(s) in which the student is enrolled, with the addition of one day preceding and following the course(s).
The housing benefit is awarded to City Year AmeriCorps members and alums who complete at least one term of service and City Year staff employed for at least two years.
In addition to the benefit described above, City Year applicants may apply for need-based scholarship aid if admitted to a degree program.
Enrollment deferral: a one-year deferral for students admitted to the program who decide to serve additional time with City Year before starting with Wesleyan University.

Graduate Liberal Studies at Wesleyan University is a part-time liberal arts graduate program designed for working adults. Classes meet in the evenings, on weekends and over the summer. Through Graduate Liberal Studies, Wesleyan awards the Master of Arts in liberal studies, Master of Philosophy in liberal arts or non-degree study options on a flexible schedule. This program offers the opportunity to study topics across the liberal arts in small classes with Wesleyan’s renowned faculty. On a beautiful campus overlooking the Connecticut River, you will hone and refine the critical thinking and creative talents necessary to make a positive impact on the world.

To apply for the scholarship
To be considered for the housing benefit described above, please submit a service verification letter by emailing email@example.com with “Wesleyan GLS” in the subject line. Within your email, include your service site and AmeriCorps graduation month and year. This letter will be sent electronically by City Year to Wesleyan’s admissions office and added to your applicant file.
