City Year is proud to partner with the University of Southern California’s Sol Price School of Public Policy, offering $10,000 tuition scholarships to all admitted City Year AmeriCorps members, alumni or staff.

The University of Southern California’s Sol Price School of Public Policy offers City Year AmeriCorps members, alums and staff

$10,000 scholarships

  • The award will be in the amount equal to $5,000 of tuition per year for all admitted City Year AmeriCorps members, alumni or staff members, renewable for the duration of the program (totaling $10,000), assuming satisfactory academic progress.
  • The scholarships described above represent the minimum awards; applicants will be considered for additional merit-based aid based on the strength of the application.
  • Eligible prospective participants will also need to meet all applicable admissions standards as set forth by the university.
  • Application Deadline: December 15

To identify your City Year affiliation

To get the application fee waived and to be considered for the scholarship, a service verification letter must be requested by emailing alumni@cityyear.org with “USC Price School of Public Policy” in the subject line. Within the email, include your service site and corps graduation month and year. This letter will be sent back to you for you to upload with your application.

To access the application fee waiver:

  1. Start your online application and select the program to which you are planning to apply
  2. On the request form, choose “Graduate Admission” and “Price School of Public Policy” under “Select an area”
  3. Under “category,” select “application fee waiver” and the sub-option for “AmeriCorps/Peace Corps/TFA participant.”
  4. Under “attach documents,” click “choose file” and upload your City Year service verification letter.
  5. Click “submit your question.”
  6. You will receive an email if and when your fee waiver is approved. You must wait to receive this confirmation in order to skip the payment page when you submit your application. No refunds will be issued post-submission.

The Office of Graduate Admission must approve your fee waiver request before you submit your application. It may take three to four business days to process the request. If your request is denied, you must pay the application fee before submission.
